ButterWizard looks like an ordinary butter dish but maintains butter at its optimum spreading temperature of 18.5C.
The temperature can be adjusted so the butter is more suitable for different foods. The dish, which is made by Alfillé Innovations, sits on a rechargeable base, which charges batteries when plugged into a power point.
It will be available in Debenhams, John Lewis and Fenwick stores from next month at an rsp of £34.95.
