A report commissioned by Women in Wholesale is aiming to address the lack of diversity in the sector.
Carried out by Him, the research will examine what key benefits draw women to wholesale roles, what puts them off applying, and how to retain staff in the long term, in an effort to help wholesalers attract more female staff.
“One of the biggest challenges with recruitment in wholesale is attracting a diverse pipeline in the first place”, said WiW founder and organiser Elit Rowland. “Many manufacturers and wholesalers want more diverse teams but struggle to get the applicants.”
Results will be available as a free report, which launched at the WiW speed networking event in London on 26 April.
The event comes in response to a survey of WiW conference attendees, which found as many as 61% would like more formalised networking opportunities.
High profile figures attending the event include managers and directors from Landmark, Bidfood, Bestway, Parfetts, Coca-Cola European Partners and Country Range.
