Friesland and Campina to merge
THE NETHERLANDS: Dutch dairy giants Friesland Foods and Campina are set to merge in a deal that would create a company with a turnover of €8.3bn (£6.1bn). "Consolidation and growth are in the interests of the member farmers, who would become collective owners, and of customers, consumers and staff," said a spokesman for Campina.
