Unilever to acquire drinks company
JAKARTA: Unilever Indonesia is to buy the Buavita brand of fruit-based drinks from local company Ultra, which will continue to produce the juices under a long-term supply agreement. "I am delighted we can add the Buavita brand to our portfolio," said Harish Manwani, Unilever's president for Asia and Africa. "It is an ideal fit with our mission of offering products that help people look good, feel good and get more out of life. The acquisition is fully in line with our priority of building on our strengths in developing and emerging markets." The deal is expected to be completed by early January 2008.
