The Danish Bacon and Meat Council starts a £750,000 advertising campaign this week.
The TV ad, which positions Danish bacon as a quality product, will run for five weeks, backed up by a press campaign.
The first execution of the ad shows a close up of the logo on a stack of rashers, with the slogan Good bacon has Danish written all over it'.
The second ad shows a rasher of bacon under a magnifying glass with the caption: Before you fry it, we grill it."
"The target is main shoppers with children," DBMC marketing director John Howard told The Grocer in Copenhagen. "The message reinforces our Danish bacon heritage, saying that Danish delivers all the good things consumers expect in bacon."
