Wyke Farms has launched a “crunchy” cheese to help set itself apart in the fiercely competitive branded Cheddar category.

Wyke Farms Crunchy Extra Mature Farmhouse Cheddar is matured over two years and gets its crunch from naturally occurring calcium lactate crystals. MD Rich Clothier hailed it as “a first for the cheese category”.

Packs carrying the slogan ‘It’s a true taste of the crunchyside’ went on sale in Waitrose this week (rrp: £3.45).
