A leading potato packer has managed to ensure year-round UK supply for main crop potatoes. Tesco supplier Branston potatoes has already begun lifting Marfona three weeks earlier than usual thanks to improved techniques. Field director David Nelson said: "As well as improved production and harvesting, it's also down to a process of lifting, rapid cooling and fast packing."
