A specialist online cider retailer is ready to cash in on the cider boom by offering a wide range of global lines to rival supermarkets.

Ciderstore.com carries a range of craft ciders from around the world. It intends to expand its stock from the current selection of 140 ciders to 200 independently produced artisan varieties, to become the most authoritative website for all matters related to cider, according to the company.

The website was set up by husband-and-wife team, Robert and Jo Faithful, both fans of their local cider producer Thatchers. The Faithfuls said part of the reason for launching the site was to allow smaller producers to find a larger market for their ciders, rather than just the local pub. They also wanted to introduce new single varietals, such as Perry's Dabinett, to a more sophisticated audience.
