Ocado’s within-an-hour grocery delivery service Ocado Zoom is set to reveal a brand refresh.
The service will now be known as Zoom by Ocado, with the main brand colours switched from green and blue to “bright yellows and pinks”.
“The new look and feel allows us to stand out and mark the next chapter of our Zoom journey,” a spokesman for the company said.
“As we expand our Zoom offering and open a number of new sites this year, now feels like the right time to give our brand an exciting refresh as we look to differentiate our rapid delivery service from others on the market, and from Ocado.com,” he added.
Ocado.com underwent a major rebrand at the start of last year, changing its website and logo from green to purple. The new colour – which Ocado calls ‘grape’ – also makes the brand’s assets clearer online, the online supermarket added.
“Green is widely used in grocery branding in the UK, and frankly, we hate to be mistaken for anyone else,” the company said at the time.
Ocado Retail’s internal creative team designed the new Zoom by Ocado logo and supporting assets, with support from partners of the earlier rebrand JKR and St Luke’s.
Yellow is not a colour unused in the rapid grocery sector within which Ocado is seeking to differentiate itself. Yango Deli’s colours are primarily yellow.
Getir, however, uses purple and yellow, Gorillas mainly black and Gopuff a light blue. Rapid rival Jiffy underwent a major rebrand in January: the brand’s new logo “the humble robin” was chosen as it is “known for its friendly and caring demeanour”, the company explained. Brand colours were switched to orange.
Zoom by Ocado’s new look and branding will be featured in a marketing campaign later this year.
