The Co-operative Group's category manager for chilled foods, Michael Owen, is to move across to become head of category buying for ambient and impulse lines.
Owen will be responsible for categories that include confectionery, crisps and snacks, soft drinks and breakfast cereals. He will report to Geoff Cox, head of buying for ambient lines.
Owen will replace Tony Blay who has left the society to set up his own furniture business.
The Co-operative Group is in the process of advertising for someone to fill Owen's post and he will take up his new role as soon as a replacement is found.
