The world’s only Palestinian beer is coming to the UK after winning a wholesale listing.
Taybeh Beer is a 5.2% abv hoppy lager brewed in a village near Ramallah. It is produced for the UK market under licence in Belgium because it cannot be directly imported due to the conflict in the area. The importer is former fashion model Rowan Davis, who has set up the Alternative Beer Company which will donate 15% of profits to Israeli and Palestinian charities. She said the beer had potential as an ethical brand.
Taybeh is distributed by Essential Trading in Bristol and through mail order.
