Greene King has appointed Mike Turner as business account manager in its take home division.
Turner will have direct trading responsibility for the company's cash & carry, wholesale and convenience accounts in the UK.
He joins after a 21-year career at Mars UK, most recently as a business unit leader within its impulse confectionery division.
"The premium ale category is underdeveloped in the off-trade and presents opportunities for the independent to maximise profits from their beer," said Neil Jardine, Greene King's take home and export director. "Mike's role will create more opportunity to expand brands such as making Old Speckled Hen, the number one premium ale in UK supermarkets, the number one premium ale brand in this sector as well."
Turner, a self-confessed "big fan" of Greene King's beers, added: "I look forward to future discussions with trade about new growth opportunities at depot and retail level."
