IGD is bolstering its senior team with two internal promotions, which it said would help meet the rapidly evolving grocery industry's needs.

David Gordon, previously UK business manager, has become director of UK research - responsible for IGD's strategic direction and the retail research program.

Dr James Northen, former chief analyst for strategy and corporate responsibility, has become head of policy initiatives. He will co-ordinate IDG's responses to key policy issues affecting the industry.
