The Coconut Collab has launched a new plant based double cream alternative into Sainsbury’s, Tesco and Ocado.
The new Double Cre&m tasted “unbelievably dairy-like”, and was “wonderfully whippable”, the brand said. It is also being served at this year’s Wimbledon Championships as the dairy-free option.
According to the brand, it is designed to behave just like the dairy equivalent, with the same thick and creamy texture. The heat-stable product is 100% plant-based, dairy-free, gluten-free, palm-oil free and soya-free.
It is available in 220ml pots (rsp: £1.75) in retail and 400ml pots through wholesale food supplier Brakes.
“Being chosen as a cream option for the Wimbledon Championship really shows that plant-based is becoming ever more mainstream,” said James Averdieck, founder and MD of The Coconut Collab. “We’re hugely proud to have been chosen as a supplier for one of the biggest sporting events of the summer.”
