PLB is continuing its expansion into beer and cider by launching a Brazilian lager.

Palma Louca is brewed in Rio de Janeiro and will retail at £4.99 for a six-pack. The company says the lager's Brazilian heritage will be a strong selling point.

"The demand for genuine imported lager and in particular Latin brands continues to grow," said brand manager Martin Howe. "This beer is particularly well positioned to capitalise on this as Brazil is perceived as both fashionable and aspirational."

PLB decided to expand its beer division last autumn. It is focusing on beers from Brazil, Spain, the Czech Republic and Lithuania.
