Premier Foods is relaunching its Branston Relish range in a chunkier, top-down format that is easier to handle and dispense.

The clear squeezy bottle is being introduced for informal eating occasions, and has a curvier design with clear product shots and descriptions.

Premier has also introduced a new relish to the range - Sweet Chilli with Ginger - which aims to meet demand for hotter and exotic tastes. It can be used on BBQ food as well as for dipping, sauces and in stir fries.

Sue Knight, Premier's general manager for pickles and sauces, said the brand, which was originally launched in 2005, was getting stronger and had helped to drive category penetration.

"Branston flavour innovations including Branston Hot Chilli & Jalapeno, which is now the best selling market SKU, have tapped into the consumer trend for hot and adventurous tastes.

It has also attracted new, younger and more upmarket consumers to the category," she added.
