Adnams is on the hunt for a new sales director following the announcement that Roger Clayson will be leaving the company next year.
Clayson has headed up the sales team for the Suffolk-based brewer since 1987, when he joined from Coca-Cola. He is leaving to pursue other interests in the industry.
"I've had an fantastic 20 years with Adnams and I'm proud of all we've achieved in that time. However at 62 I'm ready to move into other areas of the industry and am looking at several opportunities - ideally with one of the trade bodies," he told The Grocer.
The new recruit will be taking over Clayson's role within the brands and brewing arm of the company and will be leading the company's growing sales team. Clayson has confirmed he will stay on until his successor has settled into the role, which could mean he will remain at the brewer until August 2008.
"Looking to the future is essential to plan for succession to ensure the smoothest possible transition as Adnams moves into its next period of growth," said Andy Wood, Adnams managing director
Adnams also recently appointed Steven Sharp, the man responsible for the "This isn't just food, it's M&S food" campaign as a non-executive director.
