Name: Tessa Reed
Job title: Product development chef/founder
Company: SimplyCook/All Dressed Up
What was your first job? An intern at The Coconut Collaborative, which involved sampling a whole lot of coconut yoghurt.
What’s been your worst job interview? I was once asked how many people went to the cinema on a Tuesday night in London. That took some serious thinking!
What was the first music single you bought? Reach by S Club 7.
“When I hear about how much customers love our product, it’s super rewarding and keeps me going”
How do you describe your job to your friends? At the moment, it’s a bit of a juggling act. Each day brings new challenges and possibilities, and it’s constantly changing. But a lot of it involves me testing new ingredients and flavours in the kitchen, which is one of the best bits.
What is the most rewarding part of your job? When you receive positive messages from people who have just discovered All Dressed Up. When I hear about how much customers love our product, it’s super rewarding and keeps me going.
What is the least rewarding part? Looking at my P&L currently.
What is your motto in life? Try to always put things into perspective, and enjoy as much of it as you can.
If you were allowed one dream perk, what would it be? Unlimited travel to Asia to test out all new flavours and recipes.
Do you have any phobias? I’m really not a fan of heights, I am terrified of snakes and I’m quite scared of cats (sorry cat lovers!).
If you could change one thing in grocery, what would it be? To educate people better around the benefits of shopping locally, demystifying health myths and supporting smaller suppliers.
What luxury would you have on a desert island? Marmite! I’m definitely a lover not a hater.
What animal most reflects your personality? A dolphin, as they’re enthusiastic, creative and engaging – all traits I aspire to.

What has been the most embarrassing moment in your life? Probably too embarrassing to reveal here!
Which celebrity would you most like to work with and why? Ixta Belfrage, she’s super cool and I want to eat every single recipe she writes about.
What would your death row meal be? I’ve thought about this many times. Spaghetti vongole to start. Roast chicken with very buttery jacket potatoes, a green salad and bread sauce. Finished with a chocolate fondant with Crunchie ice cream and raspberries.
