Graham Boyes is moving from Moët Hennessy Germany to become managing director at Moët Hennessy UK - part of the French luxury brands group LVMH.

He replaces David Meyers, who has left to pursue interests outside the company.

Boyes has spent his whole career in sales and marketing. He started out at Cadbury before moving to Seagram and then Diageo.

He joined Moët Hennessy in 2001 as the managing director of the company's German operation.

In his new role, Boyes will report to James Cockeram, regional managing director of Moët Hennessy Europe.

Moët Hennessy owns premium drinks brands Dom Pérignon, Moët et Chandon, Hennessy Cognac and Glenmorangie malt whisky.

It also owns the the Cloudy Bay New Zealand Sauvignon Blanc brand.

Last year growth in Champagne sales helped drive an 11% rise in profits at the wines and spirits division to €962m.
