Grocery sales and distribution operator Jenks has appointed Marcus Leek as chief financial operator.
He will join the company on 18 February with responsibility for finance and IT.
Leek was previously CFO at global retail IT company Torex, where he played a key role in securing the £200m sale of its operating subsidiaries to Cerberus Private Equity.
He is an industry-trained chartered accountant with considerable experience of the retail sector having held senior roles at Sainsbury's, Bells Stores and the Caudwell Group.
"This is an exciting time to be joining the Jenks team as the company moves into a new phase of its strategic plan. I look forward to playing a part in the success of the company," said Leek.
Under the joint leadership of Ross Beattie and Ambrose McGinn, who joined the company in 2006, Jenks has recently embarked on a major strategic growth plan, claiming it will become the leading European strategic sales, marketing and distribution outsource partner within five years.
In the past 12 months Jenks' turnover has doubled and is now running at more than £200m, having boosted its portfolio with major corporate clients and brands including Johnson & Johnson, Del Monte, McCormick and Ricola.
"I am delighted that we have been able to find someone of Marcus's calibre and experience," said Jenks joint managing director McGinn.
"Jenks is a rapidly-growing business that is set to become a major player. We will definitely benefit from the strategic perspective that a chief financial officer of his calibre can bring."
Last year the company was relaunched under five different business divisions: sales, sector development, customer marketing, field marketing, supply chain and finance and administration.
