The Food Ethics Council has appointed Sue Dibb as its new executive director, replacing Tom MacMillan.
Dibb takes up her new role on 3 January. She currently works as a freelance sustainability consultant, having previously held roles at the Sustainable Development Commission, the National Consumer Council and the Food Commission.
While at the National Consumer Council, Dibb initiated benchmarking surveys to rate how well supermarkets helped their customers shop more healthily and sustainably.
Food Ethics Council chairwoman Helen Browning said Dibb had won her role against a very strong fi eld, and her experience and personal qualities made her “the perfect choice” to lead the FEC. “We are delighted with her appointment, and look forward to working with her to help shape a sustainable and just food system,” she added.
