L'Oréal UK and Ireland has overhauled its management team and made Grita Loebsack the new MD.
Loebsack, who was L'Oréal Paris UK and Ireland general manager, will head the cosmetic and personal care supplier's consumer and professional products divisions. She replaces Sophie Gasperment, who was appointed CEO of the Body Shop chain last year.
L'Oréal was in a strong position to innovate and grow sales, said Loebsack.
"The UK and Ireland business is really thriving after a record 2007, so it's an exciting time to be taking the reins," she said.
Loebsack had been general manager since 2003 and joined L'Oréal 12 years ago. She held operational marketing roles in Germany and France before becoming international marketing director of L'Oréal Paris Skincare in 2000.
She will work alongside Jean-Pierre Charriton, who remains at the helm of the luxury division, and Laurence Pardieu-Duthil, who oversees active cosmetics such as cellulite cream for the UK and Irish subsidiary.
Andrew Stanleick will take over as general manager of UK and Ireland. He has been with the company for eight years and was previously MD of the consumer products division in Poland and was in charge of the Garnier Fructis brand in the UK from 2000-2002.
Guy Farmer, the general manager of L'Oréal UK and Ireland consumer products division, is moving on to become MD of L'Oréal Portugal.
Damien Bertrand, who has been with the company since 1999, will take over from him and oversee the Garnier and Maybelline brands.
