What was your first job? I left school at 15 and got the best job ever working on a ranch in Montana. I had to pinch myself every morning as I opened the door of my own little log cabin at 5am to get on a horse.
What is the worst job you've ever had? Selling fire extinguishers on commission only in London. I was so bad I actually sold one to myself for the commission.
If you could change one thing in grocery what would it be? To break the cycle of goods sold on promotion. It's not all about price.
If you didn't work in grocery where would you work? Probably in British tourism. Britain has so much to offer.
What's your best interview tip? Do not ever say "I believe in giving 110%".
Where do you hope to be in five years' time? Still doing what I do building a relationship of trust between our retailer customer and consumer.
What is your motto in life? I'm right, you're wrong.
What do you like to do outside work? It sounds dull but Debbie and I walk lots and Yorkshire is beautiful. We also have four grown-up kids so there always seems to be a drama in their lives. As I speak I am watching one of them ploughing in the distance I am very lucky.
What's your nickname? Keebs. I hate anyone calling me Andy.
What was the first record you bought? It was Lou Reed's Transformer. I think it's still in a shed outside.
What did you want to be when you were a child? A farmer.
What's your favourite movie and why? Risky Business, because I had a crazy night after seeing it. Sorry, it's a secret and Debbie would never forgive me.
What has been the most embarrassing moment in your life? Having to show the doctor my willy after I was attacked by a savage newly farrowed sow on the farm. It was about 10 years ago and I still don't like talking about it!
Do you have any phobias? Newly farrowed sows. Sometimes I wake up in the middle of the night screaming.
If you could pick a celebrity to join your staff who would it be and why? Stephen Fry to answer the customer care line. He'd be so understanding and helpful.
What luxury would you have on your desert island? Debbie.
What animal best reflects your personality and why? Probably an ant because I'm always busy, but not completely sure if I'm heading in the right direction.
