What was your first-ever job? A Saturday girl in my local department store. It was around the time I discovered Friday night drinking so Saturday mornings were a little challenging.
What was the first music single you bought? Kylie and Jason's Especially For You. I can still remember the video, too.
How do you describe your job to your mates? I sell burnt wood.
What is the most rewarding part of your job? We are the world's first charcoal supplier to be awarded Traidcraft status on our charcoal. Watching how the premium is being spent on improving the lives of our farmers and charcoal burners in South Africa is extremely rewarding and something I'm very proud to be part of.
What is the least rewarding part? Buyer rotation. We start to take it personally when buyers change categories so swiftly.
What is your motto in life? Everything happens for a reason. I am a big believer in fate.
What's your nickname? Monica! It refers to Ross' sister in Friends. I am incredibly organised, which is an asset given my job.
If you were allowed one dream perk what would it be? More holidays. I love to travel and even though I've visited a lot of different countries, there are still so many more new and exciting places to see. I'm planning my next trip to Vietnam.
What's your favourite movie and why? Mannequin. It is a great film in the spirit of its decade. Pure 1980s cheese at its best. I can watch it over and over and never get bored.
What has been the most embarrassing moment in your life? When a piggyback from a friend went a bit wrong, resulting in a hospital visit, sprained ankle and severe concussion.
Do you have any phobias? The puppets in Thunderbirds really freak me out.
Which celebrity would you like on your staff? Alexander the Meerkat. He would be sure to give me a 'heads up' on everything.
If you could change one thing in grocery what would it be? The opportunity to become more creative with our range. Negotiations are heavily price-driven and it would be great to put more time and effort into talking about category possibilities in detail rather than simply focusing on the pennies.
What animal best reflects your personality? A wolverine for their tenacious nature and determined personality.
