What's your favourite junk food? Fizzy cola bottles - being a child of the 70s.
What would you request as your final meal? Something really hot and spicy - I'd want to maximize the sensory experience given that there is no need for food in heaven and eternity is a mighty long time.
What's your favourite book and why? 'Experience' by Martin Amis. I love the emphasis on his relationship with his father Kingsley Amis, his own writing career and traumatic dentistry.
What's your favourite movie and why? Pedro Almodovar's 'Women on the Verge of a Nervous Breakdown' - a hilarious screwball comedy that is all the better for English subtitles. I saw it in Kentish Town in the late 80s. It's an unforgettable portrayal of the various faces of women.
What did you want to be when you were a kid? A famous author - Martin Amis was my role model. It's the one profession where you can play God with the world you create. You create and then resolve tensions - it's all up to you.
What luxury would you have on your desert island? Video iPod, headphones and solar-powered charger - fully loaded with 80GB of the entire back catalogue of Black Eyed Peas, Prince, Macy Gray, Aretha Franklin and Marvin Gaye.
What was the first music single you bought? Prince '1999'. Seriously funky - and the concerns around Armageddon are sadly still relevant, but for different reasons than in the early 1980s.
If you could pick a celebrity to join your staff who would it be and why? Macy Gray. We could really use that slightly raspy and soulful voice to help us get our business issues into perspective and our priorities straight. There really is more to life than the food industry.
If you could star in a television programme, what would it be and why? Lost - it'd feel great to be part of the most expensive TV show on earth. And all that 'on location' filming in Hawaii would be just great.
Who would you most like to sit next to on a plane? Will.i.am. I'd like to ask him how he's getting on with producing Michael Jackson's comeback album and whether I can drive his Tesla Roadster - his new fully electric sportscar.
