What was your first-ever job? Drive-thru window cashier at the Silk Road Chinese restaurant in my home town of Springfield, Missouri.
What was your worst job interview? A second-round MBA summer internship interview for a large US retailer when a psychologist asked me random questions about my childhood as part of their regular screening process. Rather awkward.
How do you describe your job to your mates? I market delicious, premium desserts consumers absolutely love for an entrepreneurial, dynamic company in central London.
What is the most rewarding part of your job? The privilege of working with talented teams of individuals and agencies who turn bold ideas into reality.
What is the least rewarding part? Saying no to promising, creative ideas I know people have put a lot of effort into.
What is your motto in life? What defines us is not how far we've fallen in the past, but how high we bounce.
What's your nickname? In my last job, a lot of sales folks called me Joe-Joe. In fact, for every brand I've worked on, my sales counterparts have always called me Joe while marketers call me Joseph.
If you were allowed one dream perk what would it be? An all-expenses paid trip to a region of the world I've never visited before with an unlimited food budget.
What's your favourite movie and why? Seabiscuit. The story is all about converting misfortune into fortune and never giving up.
What has been the most embarrassing moment in your life? While MC-ing a 30-hour dance marathon for charity at university, I volunteered to wear a giant sumo wrestling outfit and go head-to-head with the president of Northwestern University while the entire student body watched. I lost.
Do you have any phobias? Centipedes freak me out.
If you could pick a celebrity to join your staff who would it be and why? Masaharu Morimoto would bring an innovative way of thinking and really mix things up. Plus, we could eat his food for lunch all the time.
If you could change one thing in grocery what would it be? Develop concrete market incentives to encourage the creation of refillable goods with the intention of reducing packaging waste.
What animal best reflects your personality and why? Tiger. Patient and measured, but always ready to pounce on opportunities when the moment is right.
