What was your first-ever job? A Saturday job sanding down cars in preparation for filling and spraying. Hard work for little reward, but it toughened me up.
What was your worst job interview? For a telesales position in Leeds in my teens. I was directed on the wrong bus and ended up three miles from my destination. I arrived considerably late, hot and bothered. I have since always taken the time to find out exactly where I'm going!
What was the first music single you bought? I love a wide range of music, from Queen to Sinatra and Blondie to modern artists like Adele. The Cars' My Best Friend's Girl was my first single.
How do you describe your job to your friends? I am responsible for talking to and asking lots of questions of anyone who will listen.
What is the most rewarding part of your job? Uncovering a new service offering to meet a client's needs and getting their feedback when it's implemented that really makes it all worthwhile.
What is the least rewarding part of your job? Early starts and late finishes, although the benefit of this is that there is less traffic to contend with. There is nothing worse than being stuck in traffic!
What's your nickname? Si I can't work out why!
What's your motto in life? Do everything with gusto, energy and passion and you will achieve results.
What's your favourite movie? Monty Python's Life of Brian. It's hilarious again and again, and a fantastic way to unwind. It's only slightly better than Monty Python and the Holy Grail.
Do you have any phobias? A fear of heights, not helpful when going to theme parks with the children who for some strange reason only want me to accompany them on rides that require breathing apparatus! If it's above head height, I'm useless.
If you could change one thing in the grocery industry what would it be? Improved clarity of information on packaging about the healthiness of products. The healthiest option is not always as obvious as the packaging might suggest.
What luxury would you have on your desert Island? Selfridge's deli counter mmm! I love the range and quality of things they have to offer and could spend hours in there. There's nothing finer for someone who likes their food than having a little bit of everything.
What animal best reflects your personality and why? A beaver meticulous, methodical and persistent.
