As a child, what did you want to be when you grew up? A footballer. But I couldn’t care less about football nowadays.
Why did you decide to go for a career in food & drink? I didn’t, but I did seek a job in coffee when I moved to Melbourne with the intent of learning more about coffee (and to financially supplement travelling).
During my time in Aus, I found myself relying on my technical background more and more – specifically for websites and webshops. At the time I found it the most enjoyable part of my working day, which naturally, and fortunately, drew me to where I am now.

Explain your job to us in a sentence (or two): Management and development of global websites, microsites, and DTC e-commerce. Leading a killer team of two.
What does a typical day look like for you? Apart from regular check-ins with the team, my day lacks a typical routine as my focus shifts daily based on which projects have the highest priority.
Currently, my focus is building a new website to support a pretty exciting on-trade coffee innovation.
Tell us about how you went about applying for your job: I applied through LinkedIn with the global e-commerce manager at the time.
First round was more of a conversation than a checklist of specific questions. Second round ran though some specific competencies and situational questions, followed by a last round, which was more of a culture-fit relaxed conversation.
What’s the best part about working for a food & drink company? All the food and drinks.
And what’s the biggest misconception people have about working in food & drink? Probably that it’s limited to traditional roles – in reality, there’s a wide range of opportunities and skills required.
What advice would you give to other young people looking to get into the food & drink industry? Reach out to hiring managers directly.
What’s your ultimate career dream? Start my own business – consultancy or brand.
