Parfetts Cash & Carry has created a retail operations team to develop its company-owned convenience format Local4U.
The team will be based at Parfetts' Somercotes depot and will be led by retail operations manager Richard Mason, who was previously deputy general manager of the depot.
He will be joined by deputy operations manager Peter Twidell, who was previously grocery and household buyer at Parfetts' Halifax depot.
The wholsaler opened its first Local4U store in New Mills, near its Stockport HQ, in August this year and is searching for suitable sites for a further eight stores, which are expected to open within the next 12 months.
"After the initial success of Local4U at New Mills we are now keen to roll out this development further," said MD Steve Parfett.
"James and Peter have been with Parfetts for many years and will bring their vast experience of the independent wholesale sector to their new roles."
