The chief executive of Wrap (Waste and Resources Action Programme) is moving on to lead Sport England.

Jennie Price developed Wrap's strategy when the programme was established in 2001 to improve the UK's recycling performance. She set up the Retail Innovation Programme after Wrap research found 50% of household waste originated from the top five supermarkets.

Price is a member of the Joint DTI/Defra Environmental Innovations Advisory Group and has played a leading role in the Sustainable Procurement Task Force.

She will take up the chief executive role at Sport England in April.
