What's it like to work for your company? Every team member works their socks off, especially over the past 18 months when we've asked a little extra from them to help us through the recession.

Why is it a good employer? We work hard but, as our team gels well together, there is a relaxed atmosphere. We've managed to keep our team intact through the tough times, which makes us really proud.

What's the best thing about working there? If you asked the staff they'd probably say the chocolate and cherry pie tastings! We're a local company using local produce creating pies made by local people.

Does the company offer any unusual benefits? We do have the occasional treat from my wife where she bakes us a cake and, as we're on a farm, we did see a cow giving birth last year. I guess the best benefits are the pie tastings.

How does the company differ from its rivals? We support the local food supply chain, we're true to our suppliers and to our local environment. We produce excellent pies that each person who works here is passionate about.

Is there a definable company culture? We do have a company code of conduct, the main points of which are good time-keeping, working with honesty and integrity, team spirit and, finally, health and hygiene.

If the company were a car what would it be and why? Aston Martin V12 Vantage pure enjoyment, performance, agility and tuned to perfection! Also a modern take on a traditional classic!

Has the company won any awards or been recognised in the past few years as an employer? Our pies have won multiple awards, including Great Taste Awards and British Pie Awards.

What's your proudest achievement over the past 12 months? Keeping the business going, and making a small profit, with the team intact through an incredibly difficult two-year trading period.

Are you looking for any people right now? We're looking for an assistant baker. We've been trying to find the right person for the past six months and have had no luck. The start time would be 4am and this puts a lot of people off. You need to think on your feet and work quickly and carefully.

What tips would you offer job seekers? Pull together an up-to-date CV or a letter telling us a bit about yourself. When you come for an interview remember you're coming to a food factory, so avoid strong perfume and tie your hair back etc.

Are you, or is the company, working on anything exciting right now? The next step is London the big smoke! We've been to a few food festivals like Taste of London and our pies have been really well received, so we're hoping we'll pick up a few new customers.
