What’s it like to work for your company? It’s exciting and challenging I love food so working with it is always a bonus. Many of the products we import and sell are exotic and unusual, which is really interesting.

Why is it a good employer? SeeWoo takes good care of its employees and as a result has amazing staff retention. Eighty per cent of staff have been at SeeWoo for over 10 years, and 20% for over 20.

What’s the best thing about working there? I have a lot of variety in my role, which keeps the challenges fresh. It’s also great to have a free staff canteen!

Does the company offer any unusual benefits? A free staff canteen! The company also holds generous raffles at its Christmas and New Year parties. I haven’t won anything yet, although two members of my team have. One won an iPad last Christmas and the other a Wii the year before!

How does the company differ from its rivals? SeeWoo is committed to quality at the best possible price. We offer over 7,000 product lines, so there is enormous choice. We not only have retail stores and superstores, but also a manufacturing site and restaurant. We therefore have a great understanding of our customers’ needs and the supply chain.

If the company were a car what would it be and why? It would be an Audi Q5. Big enough, but not too big; reliable, strong and safe, but still sleek and sexy!

What’s the training like and what qualifications can I earn? The training is good and the company is good at supporting role-related career development and training.

Has the company won any awards or been recognised in the last few years as an employer? The company has won awards in the past and the chairman has won awards for his charitable work in the community.

What’s your proudest achievement of the last 12 months? It’s difficult to single one out! We have listed products in a major retail store, we have developed some excellent marketing campaigns, we continue to grow as a business, our chairman has been elected president of Chinatown… and there are plenty more.
