Dutch organic food supplier Wessanen is to invest £1m in the manufacturing facilities of the Clipper Teas business it acquired earlier this year.

The move is designed to improve efficiency, capacity and staff facilities at the site in Beaminster, Dorset, and was described by Wessanen as crucial to Clipper sustaining its UK growth and international expansion.

“This investment marks our huge commitment in, and ambition for, Clipper Teas,” said Patrick Cairns, chief executive of the UK arm of Wessanen, which also owns brands such as Whole Earth and Kallo.

The upgrade will be given additional financial support by West Dorset District Council.
