Morrisons (five stars) gets the thumbs-up for offering the perfect all-rounder organic long-life orange juice. It had a natural and refreshing taste that was not too tangy, unlike some of its rivals.

At £1.09, Waitrose's (four stars) offering was the most expensive and, although it was lighter in colour and tasted a little sweeter than Morrisons', it still impressed.

Sainsbury's (three stars) juice tasted fresh and looked similar to Waitrose's, but had a slightly unnatural zing. Asda's offering (three stars) may have been among the cheapest, at 95p, but it wasn't terribly exciting and tasted bland.

Tesco's juice (two stars) was too squash-like: it had a pleasant taste but was let down by being weak and watery.
