Heck vegan products will soon be available across thousands of foodservice outlets for the first time after the brand signed a deal to supply catering giant Bidfood.
The brand’s entire vegan sausage and burger range, from its Bollywood Bangers to its Beet Goes On, Super Green and Thai Fusion lineups, will be made available to Bidfood customers across the UK and Europe as part of the deal.
The contract follows a six-figure investment in frozen technology at Heck’s vegan factory to cater for the foodservice sector. The brand’s vegan products are already available in more than 1,000 stores across all retailers.
“There is a real appetite for a clean vegan plant-based range in foodservice,” said Heck co-founder Jamie Keeble. Vegan products were set to represent some 15% of Heck’s business by 2020, he added.
“There are too many fake meat companies that don’t deliver on taste and health. We believe we can shake up the foodservice market and people can enjoy our tasty bangers and burgers in pubs hotels canteens across the country - and anywhere that Bidfood supplies.”
