The Wine and Spirit Association director Quentin Rappoport left the association on Friday and is considering future options in the food and drink industry.
Rappoport had been director for seven years and said that he has enjoyed great support at the WSA and that one of his biggest achievements has been to modernise the association.
He said another of his achievements was the recruitment of major off-trade retailers and supermarkets and added: “We are also taking a leading part in the important National Strategy to Combat Alcohol Harm, whereas in the
past we would have stood in the background.”
The WSA is changing its name to The Wine & Spirit Trade Association and plans to appoint a new director general with enhanced powers.
