I have given over 20 years of loyal service to Tesco. Worked 'discretionary' additional hours every single week to get the job done. 5 days off sick for a hospital admission. Never been in any disciplinary or performance meetings and for what? To be told I have no choice but to step down as "the company needs to save money to fund losses in the US and others." I have been told the 'consultation' is just what they need to go through to get this change through, that was from a member of my senior team. I will loose almost £4000 per year and have all my other benefits cut accordingly - how can this be fair or ethical given their published profit figures? I hope shoppers read this story and use it to decide where they choose to shop in future.
