Surely you should be allowed the Protected Element for your lost salary. In my old store 2 staff members took on the new role of Store Greeters bringing their pay up to grade D. The job was withdrawn after about 1 year however they stayed on Grade D - even though 1 of the staff ended up as a Bag Packer. I myself worked in staff reception for 25 years. The Company decided to have Staff Reception open 24/7 so I applied and got the job of nightshift receptionist.. After only 5 months they 'pulled the plug' on the job and tried to tell me that it was always only temporary! Total bullshit! I stood my ground and ended up keeping my nightshift premiums - which was paid 4 weekly on a a Protected Element along with my monthly pay. I continued to receive it until the day I retired aged 65 .
I would agree with previous posters that this is NOT a trial/pilot scheme! This will roll out to ALL stores in a short spate of time! All Team Leaders need to involve their Union & look closely at the Protected Pay Element. I wish you all every success!
