I fancied a change as I didn't like working for Tesco and believe me the grass isn't always greener. years ago we knew much harder stricter times. There was a time when I worked for £2.52 an hour and I gave my all. You could leave your aisle till it was complete.i now realised we never had it so good. No show you care when i started. Managers even had to be addressed Mr. The problem is all levels of efficiency need reviewing. Depending what time I go into my local, I see checkout staff sitting there doing nothing and other times it's constant calls. Your right team leaders are back bones, again though there are lazy team leaders, lazy managers and lazy GA's. I see phone shop staff and optician staff standing round. How so you provide the service but hareness idle time effectively?
When I left stores where starting to become over contracted as the sales aren't there. We all have to manage our household budget accordingly so why shouldn't Tesco. Perhaps a structure change isn't the way. Perhaps no pay rise would save money. My partner hasn't had a pay rise for years, nor does he get all the benefits I used to get. When I left last year it was clear managers managed at the wrong level, doing too much GA work, let people do the Job there paid to do and results will come through, if I was still there is be fighting and doing my best to save a company I now released I love.
