Asa current manager I think this is absolutely the wrong way of doing things. Tesco seems to have forgotten their retail heritage. Think back when tesco had the really good tv ads in the late 90s the company was loved and this was because it was a food supermarket this is where the company needs to go back to. We are losing out to the likes of aldi and lidl because this is all they do get the stock in and sell it none of this 1 in front, 10 feet high, team huddles, smile and chat crap. All the customer wants is the items on the shelf at an affordable price not someone saying hiya when there in a 10 ft radius. Keep the structure the way it is concentrate on getting the stock in cheap and trade the store. Restructure the front end team instead of having a manager and mutiple team leaders to sustain 1 in front. Do away with this imaginary kpi and give ghe customet what they want, the proof is in how well aldi and lidl do with little or no customer service.
