So after nearly a week of rumours i finally got to see the brief sent down to store managers.
Firstly how can they say that it isnt a cost saving exercise? Ive never heard such bull in a long while.
Secondly i agree with nearly every comment on here. TLs are the 'go to' guys for ga's and managers. We put in the hours that managers do for less pay and get told 'its good for your developement'. Well how can we develope when there are going to be less manager jobs to apply for. And how are tesco going to get future managers if they expect people to jump from ga to manager level. Its a joke. Nothing but anally retentive head office big wigs protecting their own over paid jobs and yearly bonuses at the expense of the store level grafters.
Just to put some perspective on this:
Ive just done 25 days straight without being paid for 75% of the overtime, including several 12-14hr days preping for MST, switching to nights to support a full relay on entertainment, to be told thanks but we dont think TLs are worth the money. Well heres a fat finger to Tesco. Many years of loyal service resulting in this. Im gonna be looking online for a new job so i can continue paying the mortgage on the house ive just bought with my fiance, because i can see them squirming out of the protected pay and USDAW doing nothing to help us
