personally i think the role of team leaders are just their to take pressure off the managers, all we had when i started at Tesco were managers and customer assistants. Checkouts had runners who were on the same pay as general assistants which meant no competition and equal job roles, the day to day running of things ran alot smoother 14yrs ago, something defo needs to change. The focus now is all paper work and meetings and loosing focus on what really matters......!
