How did the poor Tesco managers ever cope without team leaders before they invented the role. I work in an Extra store with over 30 managers and 30 team leaders. Maybe reducing both of these numbers would save a lot of money. In my view most Tesco staff work as well as they can under the circumstances they are under. This is not the time for slagging off managers, team leaders or GAs but to show respect for each other. One comment I do disagree with is the assumption that DotCom is growing rapidly. If you look carefully at the figures you may find out that in the majority of stores DotCom is probably taking around 10-20% of what the store takes each week. If this is the case then maybe Tesco should be paying MORE attention to the customers who shop instore then the customers who shop online. As some people have already commented maybe going BACK TO BASICS concentrating mainly on the customers who actually visit the store would be the best way to move forward and to regain the reputation that Tesco had BEFORE both DotCom and team leaders.
