Team leader roles should go. (I'm not saying for everyone here either but some) team leaders are managers puppets. Poor performing managers rely on team leaders. Those managers need to exposed. For those who are worried about thir team not performing while the manager is in a meeting... Well the team isn't very good and has little respect for each other or the customer then. I'm a GA and consistanyley do a team leader role without the pay and even on occasions I'll stand in for the manager. There are lots of colleagues like me that always prove we can do the job, regardless of the pay because we're good at doing what we do. Then, with no credit to us at all, we get stuck behind a team leader who has no intention on becoming a manager...a manager that under performs and a senior team who hardly knows my name because I refuse to kiss ass and sit at the table fake laughing at all their jokes. For those TL's that want to get on then the outgoing mangers will provide you your next step up. Again I understand this doesn't represent everyone and some TL/MGR's do work very hard and hats of to them but the dead wood needs seperating and gotten rid.
