Shining a light into more UK Retail smoke and mirrors shenanigans.

The reality is that the UK retail model is not sustainable, in any sense of the word. You screw the producers, screw the customers and don’t care about the consequences. It’s all about throughput, whether that throughput is consumed or wasted, you don’t care.

In order to divert attention away from this issue, you class inedible parts of plants as “on farm food waste” and use that to make your wasteful business models and practices look better. You class any unsold foodstuffs, that are already in your depots and outlets, as “on farm food waste”. You even got a report written up by WWF to help you in pushing these lies. It’s all in the WWF/Tesco produced “basket” report, if anyone’s interested. But perhaps you’re all in denial.

That’s the same WWF who have Dave Lewis, formerly of Tesco, as the chair of the board of trustees, by the way.

Screwing Food Bank charities over is a new low though, congratulations on that, really pushing the boundaries. Hope you’re all proud.
