It's been many months since I last bought a block of Anchor, as it has become very expensive (due to exchange rate, mainly, I assume). I have been eating Anchor spreadable from time to time, with no complaint. However, I have always been very fussy about my butter, and after opening my recent purchase of a 250g block from Sainsbury's at a bargain £1.25, I immediately detected an unpleasant "hint of cheddar" which I can detect in many UK dairy products, and which I dislike. Bearing in mind that the pack also seemed a slightly different shape, I got my glasses on and studied the wrapper... no longer is it NZ butter! I have been eating it since my childhood, but this (and the spare pack in the freezer which I will use for cooking) is the last pack I'll buy.
