Iceland has launched a new delivery service aimed at catering businesses.
A marketing email has been sent to businesses with a new banner logo at the top saying ‘Iceland Trade’.
The email says ‘Trust us to deliver your profits’ and describes Iceland Trade as ‘catering for all your business needs’ with ‘bespoke arrangements’.
It tells them to contact Iceland’s business development manager, Anthony Howard, ‘to discuss your requirements’ or ‘get shopping online’.
A spokesman said it was a “new wholesale service” but that it was “in a trial period and therefore Iceland are not in a position to provide any further information at this stage”.

The email promises ‘no minimum order’. Iceland’s website currently demands a minimum basket value of £25 to check out.
Catering customers are considered important to Iceland’s in-store businesses through The Food Warehouse. A 27,000 sq ft store opened in Cheltenham in November, the 86th Food Warehouse branch and biggest so far, was the first to include an entire ‘catering aisle’ selling big packs only.
“We were finding we get a lot of small businesses shopping and they were buying our bigger packs, our multipacks” The Food Warehouse marketing manager Julia Smith told The Grocer at the opening.
“We could tell from what they were putting in their trolley that there was an opportunity for us to extend that range specifically for catering and foodservice. So we just extended the range across frozen and grocery items to give us a bit of a niche in the market.
“Because it’s open to businesses and the public, it gives more choice.”
