London start-up Nix & Kix has officially launched its first range: a cayenne-based RTD positioned as an alcohol alternative.
The NPD, which was trialled last year in selected outlets, is available now in three still flavours – mango & ginger, cucumber & mint, and peach & vanilla – with each featuring cayenne chilli pepper to provide a “unique kick” (rsp: £2.50/275ml bottle).
Positioned as a “sophisticated alternative” to alcoholic drinks, the trio contains no added sugar or artificial ingredients and would appeal to both non-drinkers and the “rapidly growing clean eating health movement”, said co-founder Kerstin Robinson.
“Aside from its health benefits and the amazing ‘kick’, cayenne helped us create great-tasting drinks without having to use refined sugar.”
The drinks were also ideal as a mixer with alcoholic beverages, she added.
