His Somerset Cider Brandy Company has been producing a high quality tipple since 1987 which is served worldwide, including in British embassies around the globe.
The judges were not only impressed by the quality of his product but also by Julian's environmental credentials. He has cultivated more than 40 different varieties of apple, many of which were previously on the brink of extinction.
Runner-up was Stephen Fletcher of Ram Hall Dairy Sheep in the West Midlands which makes award-winning cheeses and supplies someof London's top food halls.
