Stonegate has snapped up specialist Farmhouse Freedom Eggs in a move the supplier claims will bolster its position in Wales.
Based on the outskirts of Usk in Wales, Farmhouse Freedom specialises in packing free range and organic eggs and producing mayonnaise.
Stonegate MD Pam Corbett said the deal would "significantly strengthen" Stonegate's presence in the Welsh market.
"We believe their egg products business including hard boiled eggs, mayonnaise and liquid egg will enhance our strong offering to our retail and foodservice customers," Corbett said.
Farmhouse Freedom will continue to operate as a standalone business under its own name. Gerry Tuffs will stay on as MD.
Stonegate is the second-largest egg supplier in the UK. Its brands include Big & British, Intelligent Eating and Respectful Eggs.
